In Grandma's Words " "

The following sister share was recorded at the South Lancaster Academy Alumni Weekend worship service, 2006.

To have a listen to our wise, encouraging and beloved Grandma- click the following link and then F.F.>> in to start @47:40.

"We learned to pray in the catholic schools…if someone had trouble in the classroom the sisters would tell us to pray.” “I learned to pray early"

“Listen to your parents, because everything they tell us is for our good. And don’t forget to pray”

“Grandpa…raised chickens and sold the eggs for 15c/dozen...he preached to everyone. Anyone who would listen, Grandpa preached.”

[story]____________ “And I really feel that that man was an angel, but I won’t know until time is finished”

“Two little girls stood at camp...and gave their lives to The Lord, at Camp Lawroweld Maine. “ There, “we learned this blessing it’s a song: "For bountiful sunshine, merciful rain. Dear Lord for thy goodness we thank thee. Our food and our care the rich blessings we share. The fruit of thy love and we thank thee. The whole camp was about Christ from sunup to sundown."”
“The police and the priest are coming to get you….you have to come home”- age 15

Grandma’s father said to her: “I’ve never heard so much bible in all my life,I’m tired of this!’ he said.” He also "didn’t even open his Christmas presents. He was buried in the same suit he was married in"

“LISTEN how God worked this out…” “God answers prayer in ways we never know. He sends hornets and bees and he does all kids of things we never know.”

“I met wonderful friends, I had wonderful Christian friends in academy”

“And I knew that I had sold myself out for a bowl of porridge” “I never did that again”

“As I look back now on my life things worked out as they were supposed to work out"

“I talked about the love of God the whole date” - re: first date between our grandparents Jim & Miriam

“When he asked me to marry him, I didn’t say ‘yes’ right away. I said I need to pray about it. Because, in my home we had broken mirrors…..flying milk bottles. And I really had to pray about it …that we’d have a good home.”

“She had arthritic hands…and she would type…so that each girl would have their own morning worship…it was so important to her that we give our lives to God in the morning.”

“And she said ‘NEVER GIVE UP’, try again and I’ll be right here.”

“We still rollerblade together” [grandparents, into their 80s]

“She went to pay it back and he said ‘you help somebody else in life’.”

“She said, ‘we couldn’t speak a word but there was love.’"
"God answers prayer for anyone, and he loves us, and his love is steadfast."

"God loves each one of us. Wouldn’t it be sad if our children didn’t realize that we love them? God loves us so much, more than we love our children. God is wooing us, God is chasing us, God is calling us."

"In Genesis 1 he went into the Garden of Eden after they’d sinned. He could have chosen another way. But he went right after them. He said “Where art thou? And He started calling them right then. And he’s still calling us today. If there's anybody here today who hasn’t given their heart to the lord, I would urge you. Give your life and your time and what you watch, what you hear- give it all to the Lord. You might say ‘Well, I'm not worthy’ but let me tell you that I’m not worthy. There's not one of us here. You can do all you want to try to be worthy; we’re not worthy. But He is worthy. He is worthy!"
