Creator, Father, LOVE

World Breastfeeding Week is an annual celebration that is recognized in more than 120 countries.

God brought into existence the magical multi-tool breast. In the creation story of Genesis 1 it says that upon reflection of His work of Day 1 through 5 God said "and it was good." Then, in study of Day 6 (making of man) God declared "and it was very good" for the first time.

As a wife and mother of two I agree that breasts are very good. Breastfeeding stimulates the release of oxytocin from your brain. Oxytocin is the powerful love hormone which (in addition to many other crucial things) helps in creating a strong emotional bond between mother and child.

Worship for me often takes place as I nurse my 3 month old son, Griffin. I have found that, for me, there is nothing more life altering than to immerse myself in the Word on a regular basis. My favorite way to start the day is with Jesus and coffee. Recently, I started my second Bible-in-a-year reading plan. Today, while nursing my child, this plan led me to:

Matthew 3:17 (NLT)

And a voice from heaven said, "This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy."

Reading this from God's word, while nursing my son, caused this to wash over me in a new way. HE SPEAKS. Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is living and active.." In the setting of holding my son while being physiologically flooded by oxytocin the holy spirit revealed to me that: Christ is God's DEARLY LOVED SON, WHO BRINGS HIM GREAT JOY. This provided me with such a powerful, sweet moment. I was able to relate to this word in an incredibly personal way. I looked down into my own son's eyes and said to him: "YOU ARE MY DEARLY LOVED SON, WHO BRINGS ME GREAT JOY." Wow. God loves Christ so much. And,

1 John 4:9 (NLT)

"God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him."

Wow. God really does love me, you, and all people. Yes, even that individual who the Devil just brought to the forefront of your mind.

Show grace to others (glorify Him), and rest in the knowledge that you are LOVED by a good FATHER who brought you into existence for just such a time as this.

God, please reveal to me what truly matters today. Open my eyes to your spiritual reality. Open my ears to hear your still, small voice and enable me to submit to it all the way & right away.

Esther 4:14

"...who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?"
